Thank You New York
So we got back yesterday morning from a short, yet memorable trip to my new favorite vacation destination ever. I was a bit skeptical of what my first trip to New York was going to be like, especially bringing our 1 year old son with us to the busiest city on earth. What I found was a contradiction to my ignorant presumptions, which were gathered mainly from movies and other media outlets. Of course there is nothing better than to go to a place to get a true feel for it, and we were not let down with this trip. The people we ran into on the streets going around town, in central park, at restaurants in the hotels and actually starting with other passengers at the airport here in L.A. were some of the nicest strangers we have ever met. The city was safe even walking around late at night and way cleaner than I thought it would be.
This is a good opportunity to thank Joshua Liner for the hospitality and putting on a great show at his gallery. You did a great job man thanks a lot. Tim and Alix, you guys rock as well and thanks for all the help with everything.
"It Wanders East" was a great success and thanks to those of you who trudged through the horrible storm and rains to make it out.
Hanging out with David Choong Lee and his wonderful wife and seeing his new body of work Village of Wind was a big highlight from the trip. He is an amazing artist and a great guy. Check out his stuff , you won't regret it.

It was good to see some old friends and meet some new ones as well as meet some people that I have looked up to for years.

I have a new T-Shirt Design out for Saosin and Hurley. A portion of the proceeds go to Invisible Children, which is an important charity which is bringing to light what is going on in war affected Uganda.

Recently our friend Johnny Bit created Jenn and I a couple custom rings of my bat bunny Logo. Thanks dude, these came out great. You can check out his work work here.
And now, get ready, "It Wanders West" will conclude this current body of work on November 6 at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles. I am excited to reveal the rest of the pieces from this series and will be posting more update on it later.

I've been to NY many times and I still marvel at how safe it seems and how clean it is when I'm walking around. You're right about NYC in movies, it was always portrayed as dangerous (and from what I hear it WAS dangerous back then!). I think being a kid and seeing movies like "Escape From NY" and "The Warriors" left an impression that I can't completely shake!
