I could start off by saying that I have been a big fan of yours for some time now, but you gotta get sick of hearing that, right? :)
SO I'm a little new to the "blogging" but, I started a blog last week called Juxtsaposing here on blogspot. Yeah, yeah I know its a play on the magazine and the phrase "Just Saposing" but I think its works nice.
I'm a clay sculptor fresh outta Grad school YEARNIng for that artspeak with other artists and I would like to know what you think about my blog if you ever get a chance.
I know you're a busy guy, but I find your work having a heavy influence on what I'm attemting to do with clay. I find, besides your site, I tend to look at Scott Radke and Takashi Murakami alot. Eight years out of art school later I'm still trying to find my true "self". You have such a handle on what makes your work "you" that I was wondering how you feel about how/when/why your work evolved.
We have some of the same childhood it seems: watching movies like Labryinth, The Dark Crystal, The Secret of NIMH, etc. I even used to dream about growing up and becoming one of those monster-movie makers...I still do. But I'm still trying to figure out how all of this informs my work. Maybe that why I started a blog. Sometimes it helps to talk this all out. Hope you get a chance to respond. And....of course...I love your new work.
ditto
